Future perspective

Tomorrow is in our Hands

Dear reader,

If you have come this far, you can already consider yourself an expert in the field. Now it's your turn to make the treasures and stories of the Cantabrian sea known!

We will continue working to show the realities of this incredible place. For this we believe that it is key to have a plan for the future, since the effects of climate change are advancing by leaps and bounds, without giving us time to react. If you still don't know what we're talking about, take a look at  some shocking facts happening in the cantabrian:

  1. A rise in sea level (1.5-3.5 cm per decade since the 1990s), and with this, the risk of flooding on the coast would increase, the disappearance of the beaches and different aquifers and agricultural soils would be polluted.
  2. The water temperature in the Cantabrian Sea has increased 0.24 ºC per decade since the 1980s, an increase that rises to 0.33 ºC during summer, and that in consequence affects directly to marine fauna and vegetation.
  3. An increase in extreme wave height events of 16.8 cm per decade in the southeast Bay of the Bay of Biscay, with high impacts on beach erosion.
  4. Greater depth of winter mixed layer, which causes an increase in the concentration of chlorophyll, nutrients and surface oxygen.

Join us and make the change!

We have a line of work open in which through field trips and conferences, we can continue cultivating our awareness proposal, from both a theoretical and practical framework. We want you to be the main character of this project, and for this reason, we offer free training so that learning never stops!

Do not hesitate to contact us for more information or to sign up for the activities.
